2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

1 Corinthians 15:58 What we do while in this earthly body does matter beyond the grave.

  1. Our resurrection is coming when Jesus comes.

    1. Old Testament teaches bodily resurrection
    2. Jesus taught bodily resurrection

    Paul answers questions in his treatment of Resurrection teachings:
    1. Would it be a good thing to restore the body to life? Yes! Absolutely!
      1 Corinthians 15:42-44
      Philippians 3:20-21
    2. How can this be after decomposition or destruction?
      1 Corinthians 15:51
      1 Corinthians 15:57
      God gives us the victory over this! It is done by Him in a mysterious way for us and to us.

      Need any more be said of the possibility or desirability of these things?
  2. Our resurrection is part of God's final victory in His creation.
    1 Corinthians 15:53 More will and "must" happen to our bodies - why?

    God created us as bodily creatures with His purposes in view.

Our resurrection is coming! Judgement will reveal our deeds and our faithfulness and labor will matter as we enjoy God and rejoice in His Glory through eternity. - 1 Corinthians 15:10
