International Missions

The Brazil ministry is open to anyone that is interested in ministry in Brazil. Since 1999, various church members have participated in 7 mission trips to 3 different locations: Belem, Rio de Janeiro and Tres Rios. Former pastor, Dr. Phil Young, has involved his current church in continuing ministry in Belem. Mission trips are based on construction, social ministries and children's ministries. All church members are welcome to participate.

UHBC is involved in on-going ministry in northeast India. The focus of the ministry is to assist national believers in planting house churches that reproduce themselves among the people groups in northeast India. The long-term goal is a church planting movement that will win the lost to Christ. The India team is responsible for developing strategy to plant house churches. All members are welcome to participate as opportunities arise.

Eleven/Seven Prayer for India consists of any person that is willing to pray 11 minutes every day for the lost of India. The India Team will provide information about the ministry in India and a monthly list of prayer requests. For more information on India, see the section on India.

Individuals at UHBC have traveled to China to teach English and prayer walk. The mission trips were taken in conjunction with organization "The EDGE English Institute".

Samaritan's Purse is an international organization that strives to relieve the suffering of poverty all over the world. One of their best known ministries is Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child encourages people of all ages to fill a shoebox with items that can be used and enjoyed by a child in another country. UHBC not only encourages its members to participate in filling boxes, but it also serves as a regional collection site for the ministry.

The IMB is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention. The board's main objective is presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to lead individuals to saving faith in Him and result in church-planting movements among all the peoples of the world. It currently sends and supports over 5,000 missionaries all over the world. It also provides opportunities for Christians to participate in long-term and short-term ministry all over the world.
