Room in the Inn is a ministry that provides warm shelter and food to the homeless during the cold winter months. University Hills cooperates with two other area churches to provide a University City shelter. Our congregation helps with food, bedding, setup, transportation and friends for conversation.

ESL is a ministry offered to people whose primary language is not English. The goal is to teach conversational English while developing relationships that open doors to sharing the Gospel.

NC Dental Bus Ministry provides free dental work to underprivileged and underinsured persons in North Carolina. The bus travels all over the state making stops for a week at a time to provide services. It stops once a year at UHBC to provide services to persons in the university area.

Crisis Assistance Ministry is a public-private partnership serving low-income people in Mecklenburg County. The agency seeks to involve the entire community through donations of time and resources.

"Love, In the Name of Christ" is a ministry that seeks to encourage churches to become more engaged with the poor of their community. Love, Inc. determines needs and then refers the information to local churches. Participating churches then go out in the community to meet the needs.

Friendship Families seeks to pair up internationals with American families or singles to provide opportunities for friendship and learning. American families/singles are asked to meet at least once a month. Internationals generally speak English, but desire an opportunity to learn American culture and family life.

ISM is a ministry to the international students at the colleges and universities. It seeks to involve local churches in reaching out to the internationals with the goal of developing relationships and sharing the Gospel. ISM currently ministers to UNCC and CPCC in Charlotte.

The BCM is the collegiate arm of ministry from the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Vacation Bible School is held every year in the month of June and is open to anyone between the ages of kindergarten through high school. Children and youth participate in Bible study, character study, crafts and physical activities.

The Music Ministry of UHBC not only leads worship in music, but actively uses music as a ministry to those outside our church. Under the leadership of Rev. Mike Toney and the group leaders, the various groups have ministered in the hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, neighborhoods and other places in Charlotte and outside Charlotte.
